Old Log Theatre will be rockin' with the untold story of four rock 'n' roll pioneers and how they came together for one magical night, as the smash hit musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET makes its professional theatre debut in the Twin Cities.

Inspired by the electrifying true story, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET comes off its successful Broadway run making its Regional Premiere at the Old Log Theatre with previews beginning on Friday, June 10, 2016 and opening/press night on Saturday, June 18, 2016.

The Tony Award Winning musical, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET is set on December 4, 1956, when an extraordinary twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley together. Sam Phillips, considered the "Father of Rock 'n' Roll" and responsible for launching the careers of each of these superstars, brought the four legendary musicians together at his Sun Records studio in Memphis for the first and only time. The resulting evening became known as one of the greatest rock 'n' roll jam sessions in history.

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET is directed by R. Kent Knutson, musically directed by Kyle Picha and features performers: Eric Morris as Jerry Lee Lewis, Frank Moran as Elvis Presley, Matt Tatone as Carl Perkins, Eric Sargent as Johnny Cash and Paul Rutledge as Sam Philips.

"At the time these four iconic music legends were coming together to make Rock and Roll history at Sun Records, Don Stoltz, was gathering actors from across the country and building his vision of professional theatre here on the shores of Lake Minnetonka." says director Kent Knutson, "With MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, we are able to combine the story and music of that night Dec 4, 1956 with this theatres 76 year history of shows and bring back the magic of a time gone by, but never forgotten."

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET brings that legendary December night to life with an irresistible tale of broken promises, secrets, betrayal and celebrations that is both poignant and funny. Relive the era with the smash-hit sensation featuring an incredible score of rock 'n' roll, gospel, R&B and country hits, performed live onstage by world-class actors and musicians. Showcased hit songs include: "Blue Suede Shoes," "Fever," "Walk the Line," "Sixteen Tons," "Who Do You Love?," "Great Balls of Fire," "Folsom Prison Blues," "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On," "Hound Dog," and more.

"MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET is an exhilarating show for our audience with its fascinating view into musical history and hit tunes that are still popular today." says owner/producer Greg Frankenfield. "Fresh from a successful run on Broadway, Old Log is thrilled to be the first regional theatre to produce this outstanding show that is perfect for all ages."

When the Broadway production opened in April 2010, the reviews were enthusiastic, the New York Times called the show, "a buoyant new musical that whips the crowd into a frenzy," New York Magazine labeled it, "a dazzling raucous spectacle that sounds like a million bucks".

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET won a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical and received two Tony Award nominations for Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical. The show received an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical, a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Musical Revue and three Drama League nominations including Distinguished Production of a Musical and Distinguished Performance.

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET begins performances on Friday June 10, 2016 through January 21, 2017 with performances running Wednesday 130p, Thursday - Saturday 730p and Sunday 2p.
