Jeremiah and Vanessa Gamble, the creative team behind Kingdom Undone, and 'Til Death: A Marriage Musical, present their newest labor of love, Sam's Son, a Prohibition-era Americana musical loosely inspired by the biblical story of Samson. While this musical is not that story specifically, it is inspired by themes in the original story- purity, hypocrisy, judgment, and liberation. Jeremiah says, "I saw that the Prohibition era echoed those same themes and has striking parallels with our country today."

St. Paul's tainted bootlegging history is not lost on the authors. Their unique performance venue is Art House North, a 100+ year old church in the West 7th neighborhood of St. Paul, and home to their theater company, Bucket Brigade. The show will take place on both levels of the church, the upper level holding much of the action, while the downstairs lobby is transformed into a speakeasy serving German pretzels and draft root beer. "Part of what excited me about writing a Prohibition-era show was just how site-specific our venue-an old church-would feel," Jeremiah states.

SHORT SYNOPSIS: Gifted with unnatural strength, Sam Jr. wants to accomplish great things, but his reverend father seeks to shelter him from the wide world. When a Prohibition agent comes digging for secrets in the town of Goode, Sam and his father get caught up in a tangled mission of truth, where lies get revealed at great cost.
