Mixed Blood Theatre's THE DEAF DUCKLING wraps up its regional tour with performances on April 25 and 26 at the Parkway Theater in south Minneapolis. The family-friendly show, performed simultaneously in American Sign Language and English, begins at 7:00 p.m. each evening.

Playwright Aditi Brennan Kapil deftly weaves together the classic "Ugly Duckling" fairy tale with the story of a deaf child born into a hearing family. Performed by a talented cast of deaf and hearing actors, THE DEAF DUCKING offers a warm and insightful look at how one family bridges deaf and hearing cultures.

Originally produced by Mixed Blood in 2005 and revived in 2006 and 2009, THE DEAF DUCKLING features David Baughman, James Gardner, and returning cast member Erin Gardner, under the direction of playwright Kapil.

The Parkway Theater, located at 4714 Chicago Avenue in south Minneapolis, is celebrating the performances by offering ticket buyers a 10% discount at Pepito's Restaurant (next door to the theater) prior to each performance.

Tickets for the 45-minute performance are $8 ($5 for children 12 and under), and are available by calling 612-338-6131, at www.mixedblood.com, and at the Parkway box office 2 hours before each performance.
