Minnetonka Theatre's 9 TO 5 Opens 7/19

Tickets are now on sale for Minnetonka Theatre's summer production of 9 to 5 - The Musical, presented on the Arts Center on 7 Main Stage July 19- August 3. Based on the hit 20th Century Fox Picture, the story follows three female coworkers as they join forces in the late '70s to get even with their "sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot" boss after he pushes them past their limits.

"9 to 5 is the perfect summer show," cheers director Trent Boyum. "If you loved the movie, you'll love the stage musical. The show is filled with hilarious scenes, great dancing, and a wonderful country-inspired score by Dolly Parton. It's essentially a girls' night out - we're hoping ladies come in groups and really whoop it up!"

This delightfully retro production will bring many beloved actors back to the Minnetonka stage: John Trones (Franklin Hart, Jr.) and Jen Burleigh-Bentz (Violet Newstead) will reunite after playing Captain von Trapp and Maria in the sold out run ofThe Sound of Music, as well as Frank Butler and Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun. Stacey Lindell (Judy Bernly) was last seen here as Janet Van De Graaff in The Drowsy Chaperone and recently starred alongside Jen in The Christmas of Swing at the History Theatre. Kendall Thompson (Doralee Rhodes) is following up her lead roles in Minnetonka's Cinderella and The Wizard of Oz after graduating from The Boston Conservatory and performing at regional theatres across the country.

Featuring new songs by Dolly Parton, as well as the Grammy winning title track "9 to 5", the show is sure to entertain. Recommended for ages 13+ for some adult humor.
