Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company (MJTC) will end its 15 th anniversary season with the regional premiere production of Women's Minyan by Naomi Ragen. It's been two years since Chana has seen her twelve children. A divorce decree gave custody of them to her husband, and she has not been allowed even a visit. Now, a legal determination has been made that she may see them, but when she arrives at their home, relatives deny her this right. Chana has no choice but to reveal secrets of her marriage.

Based on a true story of domestic abuse in a strictly observant Israeli community, Women's Minyan was written by Naomi Ragen, one of Israel's best?loved authors. It was originally commissioned by Habima, Israel's National Theatre, and became the longest?running play ever to be presented there.

Women's Minyan will be directed by Carolyn Levy, assistant professor at Hamline University, artistic associate with MJTC, and freelance director. MJTC credits include The Triangle Factory Fire Project, Rose, The King of the Kosher Grocers, Never the Sinner, and The Chosen. She was the artistic director and co?founder of the Women's Theatre Project, and has worked extensively with Playwrights' Center.

Women's Minyan will feature Kirby Bennett (Chaim's Love Song, The Triangle Factory Fire Project, The Magic Dreidels, Hanukkah Lights in the Big Sky), Delta Giordano (And Then They Came For Me), Jaime Kleiman (Moonlight and Magnolias, Chaim's Love Song), Miriam Monasch (The Action Against Sol Schumann), Julie Ann Nevill (Lovers and Traitors: The Killing of the Rosenbergs), and newcomers to the MJTC stage, Bethany Ford, Meri Golden, Natasha Oreskovich, Kira Pontiff, and Roneet Rahamim.
