MJTC Opens 25th Season With THE MIKVEH MONOLOGUES Image

Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company opens its 25th Anniversary Season with the dramatic readings of The Mikveh Monologues by Anita Diamant & Janet Buchwald. Directed by Miriam Schwartz in her directorial debut.

This contemporary collection of monologues shares the transformative experience of the modern mikveh, a Jewish ritual bath re-imagined for modern use. This special project, in partnership with The Minnesota Community Mikveh Initiative, presents dramatic readings of women and men who have immersed in the living waters of the mikveh for healing, reflection, and revitalization. Following the readings, there will be refreshments and a discussion led by cantor Rachel Stock Spilker with director Miriam Schwartz.

Laura Stearns (The Last Schwartz, My Mother's Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding) and Charles Numrich (Shul, Natasha and the Coat, Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins) return to MJTC for these dramatic readings. Rachel Austin and Ryan London Levin will make their MJTC debut.
