This fall, the Jungle Theater remounts one of its most requested productions, Sam's Shepard's FOOL FOR LOVE, designed and directed by Artistic Director Bain Boehlke. The explosive tale of doomed love and loss is set in a seedy motel on The Edge of the Mojave desert where transient lovers May and Eddie engage in a ruthless struggle for power and truth. Fool for Love opens tonight, September 6 and runs through October 20 at the Jungle Theater, 2951 Lyndale Av. S. in Minneapolis.
Terry Hempleman reprises his role as Eddie, one of his most memorable Jungle performances. Jennifer Blagen (May), Allen Hamilton (The Old Man) and Jason Peterson (Martin) add their considerable talents to the production.
Fool for Love, which won the Obie Award for Best New American Play in 1984, was also nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama that yeaR. Shepard adapted his play for the screen and starred as Eddie in Robert Altman's critically-acclaimed 1985 film.
