The acclaimed ensemble, Transatlantic Love Affair (TLA), tackles a dark tale of ambition, revenge and the seedy underbelly of the criminal world in 105 Proof; or, the Killing of Mack "The Silencer" Klein. In this original tale, set in Prohibition times - the era of the Tommy gun and the speakeasy - a small-time bootlegger discovers the true cost of moonshine. The new work will be on stage November 5-20 at the Illusion Theater, located on the eighth floor of The Cowles Center for Dance & the Performing Arts, 528 Hennepin Ave. in downtown Minneapolis.

105 Proof; or, the Killing of Mack "The Silencer" Klein marked TLA's return to the Minnesota Fringe Festival last summer after a year hiatus. The piece was praised by audiences and critics alike: City Pages called it "a breathtaking achievement... 105 Proof isn't just one of the best shows of the Fringe. It's one of the best shows of the year." The production was also lauded by the Pioneer Press and Star Tribune, and given an average of five-star reviews over 72 online audience reviews. It was the fifth-top-selling show of the 2015 festival.

Directed by TLA Artistic Associate Diogo Lopes and featuring a stellar cast that specializes in imaginative, movement-based and collaboratively created theatrical storytelling, 105 Proof features Amber Bjork, Heather Bunch, Emily Dussault, Eric Marinus, Derek Lee Miller, Nick Sexton, Allison Witham and Nick Wolf. The music of 105 Proof is inspired by the mysticism and lore embedded in American roots and blues music, with Dustin Tessier on guitar and Adam J. Patterson on drums.

105 Proof is recommended for ages 16+. Tickets are $17-$25. Group discounts are available for groups of 10 or more people. Tickets are available at the Illusion Theater Box Office at 612-339-4944 or online at www.illusiontheater.org.
