Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced their 2009 holiday lineup running at the State and Pantages Theatres in November and December, from special concerts including Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Kenny G and Tony Sandler to returning local favorites Lorie Line, The Blenders and All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 with Theater Latté Da and Cantus. Tony Sandler's Holiday Greetings features the dulcet tones of platinum-selling Belgian vocalist Tony Sandler, of the famed Las Vegas sensation Sandler and Young, performing Christmas classics including "Silent Night" and "Do You Hear What I Hear" with the Land of Lakes Choirboys, a critically acclaimed local boys choir based in St. Francis, and an ensemble of Minnesota-based musicians.

Kenny G, the Grammy Award-winning saxophonist with over 75 million albums sold worldwide, kicks off the season with holiday classics such as "Silver Bells," "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "Joy to the World." His sixth album, "Breathless," became the biggest selling instrumental record in U.S. history and featured the phenomenally popular single "Forever in Love," which won the smooth jazz composer and songwriter a 1994 Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition.

In "Home for the Holidays-A Minnesota Christmas," Phil Thompson, local composer and pianist, brings together some of the Twin Cities' best musicians in a sumptuous musical celebration of the season at Hennepin Theatre Trust's intimate Pantages Theatre.Thompson will be joined by a host of Minnesota guests including Patty Peterson, Tim Mahoney, Katie McMahon, Roster McCabe, Matthew Griswold, GB Leighton, Mick Sterling, Ari Herstand, Cate Fierro and the Wild Colonial Boys. Thompson is best known recently for his 35W Bridge memorial song "Final Ride Home."

The Blenders Holiday Soul Tour 2009

The Blenders, the Emmy Award-winning male vocal quartet originally from Fargo, returns to the Pantages this year with a live backing band and their wildly successful "Holiday Soul Tour 2009." Featuring a lively mix of comedy and music, their concert will showcase the a cappella-based harmony group's distinct take on Christmas favorites as well as tunes from their lively "Songs from the Soul" CDs.

All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914

Through new arrangements of European carols and war songs, All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 recalls the remarkable World War I truce between Allied Forces and German soldiers in No Man's Land around Christmas, 1914. This theatrical concert and musical radio docudrama was created by playwright/director Peter Rothstein from Theater Latté Da and features the singers of Cantus, one of America's finest professional male ensembles in a production the Star Tribune called "a classic to be repeated for years to come."
