Hennepin Stages Presents GIRLS ONLY, 1/14-4/3

Girls Only: The Secret Comedy of Women, the original hit comedy celebrating the honor, truth, humor and silliness of being female, debuts in Minnesota January 14-April 3, 2010 at Hennepin Stages in downtown Minneapolis. With a two-woman cast, Girls Only mixes sketch comedy, improvisation, audience participation, video and raucous songs in a unique examination of all things girly. Girls Only was created by Barbara Gehring and Linda Klein, two accomplished Denver actors who adapted the earnest and sweetly absurd writings they discovered in their girlhood diaries into a show that has been enjoyed by more than 110,000 women nationwide. Gehring and Klein, the original cast members, will open the engagement and later yield the stage to local actors. Fresh from a highly successful, two-year run in Denver, the show has also touched a chord in Des Moines, IA, Charlotte, NC and in Gehring's home town, Winnipeg, Canada. The Des Moines Register says, "Girls Only is like one big sleepover-without having to worry about your dad coming down to shush everyone."

Girls Only: The Secret Comedy of Women runs Thursday-Sunday, Jan. 14-April 3, 2011 at Hennepin Stages, Lower Level (824 Hennepin Avenue, Mpls., 55402). Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010. Prices are $29.50 general admission for adults, $25 for seniors and $20 for students.
