Kathleen Turner, two-time Golden Globe winner and Academy Award and Tony Award nominee, returns to the Minneapolis stage in the national tour of playwright Matthew Lombardo's HIGH, a stirring drama about addiction, faith and redemption. Highruns for one week only, Wednesday–Sunday, April 18-22, 2012 at the Pantages Theatre, 710 Hennepin Ave., in downtown Minneapolis.Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m., Friday, March 2. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit HennepinTheatreTrust.org or call 1.800.982.2787

Directed by Rob RuggieroHigh stars Turner as the tough yet troubled Sister Jamison Connelly, who is asked to help a 19 year-old drug user combat his addiction and ultimately tests her own faith. Struggling between her knowledge as a rehabilitation counselor and a woman of religious conviction, she begins to question her belief in miracles and whether people can find the courage to change. High explores the universal themes of truth, forgiveness, redemption and human fallibility without losing its sense of humor. Turner, for her role in the Broadway production last season, was nominated for a Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance.

The High national tour also features Broadway cast members Evan Jonigkeit as "Cody Randall," nominated in the role for an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play, and Timothy Altmeyer as "Father Michael Delpapp". Playwright Lombardo was last represented in St. Paul at the Ordway with his one woman play Tea at Five. Director Ruggiero most recently directed Ella at the Guthrie Theatre

Turner, no stranger to the Twin Cities, made her Minneapolis stage debut starring in Tallulah at the State Theatre. "I am so glad to be continuing my work on this extraordinary play," said Turner. "High has been a compelling, rewarding experience and I am looking forward to returning to Minneapolis and playing on yet another Hennepin Avenue stage."

High had its world premiere in Hartford, Connecticut at TheatreWorks, where it broke all box office records, becoming the highest grossing play in that theatre's 25 year history. The production then went on to play Cincinnati's Playhouse in the Park and The Repertory Theatre of Saint Louis, again ranking among the top five most popular plays in those venues. It continues to draw audiences across the country.

High is produced by Ann Cady Scott and Timothy J. Hampton in association with The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis. The design team includes David Gallo (sets), Jess Goldstein (costumes) John Lasiter (lighting) and Vincent Olivieri (sound and original music).  Full bios are available for all cast and the creative team. For additional information, please visit www.highontour.com.
