Girls Only: The Secret Comedy of Women will extend its run at Hennepin Stages in downtown Minneapolis through Mother's Day, May 8, 2011, and add a Wednesday evening performance.
This original hit comedy celebrates the honor, truth, humor and silliness of being female, mixing sketch comedy, improvisation, audience participation, video and raucous songs.
WHO: The two-woman Girls Only cast stars Twin Cities' actors Nicole Fenstad and Heidi Bakke. Fenstad has worked at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, the Ordway Center and is active in the a cappella group Chick Cheer and founder of Princess Party Pals. Bakke has worked at the Jungle Theatre, Park Square Theatre, Penumbra Theater, The Playwrights' Center, The Red Eye Theater and Bedlam Theater.
Girls Only was created by Barbara Gehring and Linda Klein, two accomplished Denver actors who adapted the earnest and sweetly absurd writings they discovered in their girlhood diaries into a show that has been enjoyed by more than 110,000 women nationwide.
