On June 5th 2011, Four Humors theater launches an ambitious new season full of original works in a variety of performance styles and genres including farce, puppetry, historical and sci-fi. Now in its 6th year of performance, Four Humors is excited to bring its unique vision and performance philosophy to stages across the Twin Cities and beyond.
Four Humors' new season begins at the 8th annual Cincinnati Fringe Festival with the original, world premiere production of You Only Live Forever Once, a comedic spy show of epic proportions told through a mix of live action and puppetry. Traveling the world in style and hopping from the arms of one femme fatale to another, secret agent Dave Johnson must stop the mysterious Agent X from destroying the world before it's too late. Filled with intrigue, danger and hot glue, You Only Live Forever Once is sure to leave the audience gasping for breath at every humorous, hairpin turn. You Only Live Forever Once returns to Minneapolis in August as part of the Minnesota Fringe Festival. Directed by Acclaim Award winning director Jason Ballweber and featuring Four Humors Theater company members as the ensemble. In July, Four Humors travels to Plainview, MN and the Jon Hassler Theater with the original, world premiere production of Happy Café, a fast-paced, non-stop farce centered around God's Grace Chocolate Cake; the best cake in the world. The Happy Café is Johnsonville's only restaurant. With mediocre food, bad service and run by the bizarre Mr. Claudius Happy, the only thing it really has going for it is its cake, a secret recipe that Mr. Happy guards with his life. However, just as World's Cake Symposium announces that its annual conference is being held in Johnsonville, the recipe goes missing and Mr. Happy will stop at nothing to recreate it and secure his chance at fame. With pompous cake connoisseurs, a narcoleptic waiter, and triplet busboys, The Happy Cafe will be an uproarious farce the whole family will enjoy. Written and directed by Dell'Arte International graduate and former faculty member Tyler Olsen and featuring Four Humors Theater company members as the ensemble.Videos
