The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra's Liquid Music series presents Chicago-based Ensemble dal Niente on Tuesday, November 5 at The Music Room, SPCO Center in downtown Saint Paul. The concert will feature the world premiere of a new work by Minnesota composer Noah Keesecker called The Universe is made of stories, not of atoms.

Ensemble Dal Niente's program also includes music by Rebecca Saunders, John Cage, Ashley Fure, Stefan Prins and Enno Poppe.

Composer Noah Keesecker described his new work: "Anxious and frenetic music poured over a thick pulse of lethargy, The Universe is made of stories, not of atoms crackles with laconic bursts of rhythm and sweeping melodic lines. This electro-acoustic chamber work with video is a love/hate relationship between analog and digital sound; a sibling rivalry that hugs as much as it hits. This is music to move people either by choice or by force. Pulling influences from popular music, folk, and electronica, it also steals from the classics of music and literature."

Kate Nordstrum, Liquid Music series curator said, "The skill and vigor of Ensemle Dal Niente is intoxicating and the complexity of its music does not deter intimacy in performance. On the contrary, Dal Niente concerts are wild rides for everyone in the room, thereby bringing a real sense of community for all aboard. The Chicago-based ensemble should be in the Twin Cities more frequently and I hope to persuade audiences to encourage them in this direction."
