After a successful 2012 premiere, Kingdom Undone, the new play with a compelling twist on the last days of Jesus and Judas, returns to the Southern Theater March 15 - 30. Critics praised the show as "Remarkably intelligent... a first rate production" - John Olive, How Was the Show; "a labor of love by artists who really know what they're doing" - Matthew Everett, Twin Cities Daily Planet; and "[having] the potential to become an estimable piece in the passion literature" - Graydon Royce, Star Tribune.

Writers Jeremiah and Vanessa Gamble (founders of Theater for the Thirsty) hoped the piece would challenge both church goers and non-church goers to rethink assumptions and provoke discussion. "We were thrilled with the response," says Jeremiah. "We heard a lot of stories from the audience and cast about conversations they had about the show." Kingdom Undone even got the critics talking. "It's a rare show that a friend and I will be discussing for hours after we've seen it," wrote Matthew Everett of the T C Daily Planet, and Sophie Kerman of Aisle Say stated "Kingdom Undone provides an interesting venue for thinking in new ways about A VERY OLD story."

After the premiere, some enthusiastic audience members vowed to make the show an annual tradition, saying it could be the Christmas Carol of the Easter season. Jeremiah laughs, "Well, we're glad people want to see the show again because we certainly want to keep telling it."

Kingdom Undone is directed by Jeffrey S. Miller (The Refreshment Committee) with musical direction by Michael Pearce Donley (Triple Espresso), and it features Dustin Bronson (Pillsbury House, The Illusion, Park Square, Workhouse) as Judas, and a stand-out cast of Twin Cities' talent.
