Stages Theatre Company (STC) is inviting patrons to 'move it, move it' with the regional-premiere of DreamWorks Madagascar: A Musical Adventure. The musical production follows the tale of Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, and Gloria the Hippo, as they make their escape from New York's Central Park Zoo to explore the world. With an imaginative set and colorful costumes, DreamWorks Madagascar: A Musical Adventure is a high energy, dance-filled musical celebration perfect for a family summer outing!

A stage adaptation of the 2005 animated movie by DreamWorks, Madagascar: A Musical Adventure is produced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTIshows.com), written by Kevin Del Aguila, with original music lyrics by George Noriega & Joel Someillan, and directed by Sandy Boren-Barrett. The crack-a-lackin' friends from Madagascar will take audience, young and old, to a magical place that celebrates friendships. "Everybody has a friend, that one friend that makes you do things (both good and bad) that you might not be brave enough to try. And they convince you that you can do it! That is Alex and Marty - they are there for each other, they laugh with each other, take risks for each other, and save each other when they need to be saved," said Sandy Boren-Barrett, Artistic Director. "This is a story about wanting more but finding out that you actually had all you needed or wanted all along, you just needed a 'best friend' to remind you of that. Madagascar is truly a musical ADVENTURE, it has fun, lively musical numbers that will keep your toes tapping and you dancing in the aisles and all the way home. We can't wait to share it with you."
