Beyond Ballroom Dance Company (BBDC) will end its return to the Southern Theater for its seventh season on April 11th. Bringing delicate beauty and grace to The Nightingale, romping through The Red Riding Hood Suite (in which a rakish wolf comes across a surprisingly capable grandma), and finally bringing a majesty of movement to the grand ball in Cinderella (in an ensemble piece created by Sossy Mechanics' Brian Sostek and Megan McClellan in collaboration with BBDC), Beyond Ballroom weaves a spell of gorgeous dancing. These professional ballroom dance champions treat Southern audiences to an "eye-opening look at what ballroom dance in the 21st century can be" (Star Tribune).

The company features professional competitive ballroom dancers who have brought the technique and artistry of these timeless dances to the stage. "Ballroom dance tells the story of relationships," says company director and co-founder Deanne Michael. "Whether it's the passion of the tango, the flirtation of a cha-cha, or the romance of a waltz, these dances naturally lend themselves to the telling of a story." Beyond Ballroom has become known for its innovative productions and original use of traditional ballroom and Latin dance choreography.
