5th Annual Crutchfield Dermatology Foundation 5K Returns to Eagan, MN, Today

The Crutchfield Dermatology Foundation announced the 5th Annual Crutchfield Dermatology Foundation 5K for Camp Discovery at Lebanon Hills Regional Park, September 17th, 2016. The Crutchfield Dermatology Foundation is a non-profit created in 2012 by Charles E. Crutchfield III MD to promote good health in Minnesota. One of the Foundation's premiere events is the annual 5K, which has been successful raising funds benefiting the American Academy of Dermatology's Camp Discovery.

For the past 20 summers, Camp Discovery has been making a difference in the lives of children living with a chronic skin condition, some of whom require extensive daily medical treatment and supervision. At no cost to their families, and with on-site medical care, campers can experience all that a typical summer camp offers. By the end of camp, everyone leaves with new, lifelong friends, a burst of self-confidence and the knowledge that serious skin conditions are not a hindrance to learning how to ride horseback, paddle a canoe or perform in a talent show!

Celebrity participants of previous Crutchfield Dermatology Foundation 5K for Camp Discovery have included Lori & Julia from MyTalk 107.1 FM and TC Bear of the Minnesota Twins.

Located in the center of the largest park in Dakota County, the Jensen Lake Trailhead hosts a large, shaded picnic area and provides access to miles of wooded hiking trails, one of which we have chosen for our 5K course. Participants are sure to be offered picturesque views of the park's beautiful fall scenery, and will enjoy a great event for a wonderful cause!

This year, sponsors of the event include Amgen, Celgene, Novartis, and Abbvie. Some raffle prize donors include the Minnesota Timberwolves, Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Twins, Lululemon Athletica, Major Body Fitness, Jane Iredale, and Neostrata.
