Jenny’s a mom. She’s also a Marine; or was, until yesterday. Now she’s got an honorable discharge and a new leg, heading home to her kids. Almost. First, she takes an unexpected detour through Slab City, the Mojave Desert’s home for misfits, dropouts, and crazy philosophers of all kinds. In their own quirky ways, these desert denizens help our wayward soldier put to rest what’s keeping her awake at night, so that Mom can get home. In this battle, we’re all on the same side.
