Our new Artistic Director, Viswa Subbaraman will open his very first production at Skylight with a unique staging of the tale of Fidelio by Ludwig van Beethoven. A timeless story that deals with love, freedom, the purity of purpose and of course mistaken identity; Skylight turns this work on its head by setting it as a classic Bollywood film! We will combine Beethoven’s dramatic score with a moving chorus of colorfully dressed Indian dancers on a set designed by the modern artist Raghava KK. The Sikh Temple of Wisconsin in Oak Creek will also collaborate with Skylight as we transcend culture, society and ethnicity, ultimately showing we all share similar values. This is certain to be a historic not-to-be-missed season opener!
