The National Tour of HAIR Will Perform at the Marcus Center in Milwaukee 2/27

HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical is playing its last performance at the Marcus Center on February 27. This Milwaukee engagement is presented by Broadway Across America-Milwaukee and the Marcus Center as part of the Time Warner Cable Broadway at the Marcus Center Series. 

Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director of The Public Theater, commented, "The National Tribe of Hair are the most beautiful beasts in the forest, an amazingly talented group who will be bringing HAIR'S message of peace and justice across the United States. Let the sun shine in!"

The cast will feature members from the recent Broadway production of HAIR including Steel Burkhardt as Berger, Matt DeAngelisas Woof, Kaitlin Kiyanas Crissy,Darius Nichols as Hud, Paris Remillard as Claude, Kacie Sheik as Jeanie, Nicholas Belton, Larkin Bogan, Allison Guinn, Josh Lamon, John Moauro, Cailan Rose, Jen Sese, Lawrence Stallings and Lee Zarrett. Additional HAIR alumni include Phyre Hawkins as Dionne and Caren Lyn Tackett as Sheila.

The cast will also feature newcomers Shaleah Adkisson, Emily Afton, Corey Bradley, Marshal Kennedy Carolan, Laura Dreyfuss, Mike Evariste, Lulu Fall, Tripp Fountain, Nkrumah Gatling, Christine Nolan, Emmy Raver-Lampman and Tanesha Ross.

HAIR won the 2009 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival as well as the Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle award for Outstanding Revival of a Musical. HAIR was also nominated for an additional seven Tony Awards including Best Direction, Best Choreography, Best Costume Design, Best Lighting Design and Best Sound Design. Thecast recording was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.

With a score including such enduring musical numbers as "Let the Sun Shine In," Aquarius," "Hair" and "Good Morning Starshine," HAIR depicts the birth of a cultural movement in the 60's and 70's that changed America forever. The show resonates with an irresistible message of hope more than 40 years after it first opened on Broadway.

The New York Times says "Diane Paulus's THRILLING, EMOTIONALLY RICH production delivers INTENSE, UNADULTERATED JOY" and Time Out New York says "HAIR SPEAKS TO A WHOLE NEW GENERATION!."

The full creative team behind the Broadway production is on board for the National Tour, including Diane Paulus (Director), Karole Armitage (Choreography), Scott Pask (Scenic Design), Michael McDonald (Costume Design), Kevin Adams (Lighting Design) and Acme Sound Design (Sound Design). HAIR features a book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot.

HAIR will play February 22nd through 27th at the Marcus Center. Performances are Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8:00 p.m., Saturday at 2:00 and 8:00 p.m., and Sunday at 1:00 and 6:30 p.m. Prices start at $25 and vary depending on performance, seat location, and date of purchase. Tickets go on sale Sunday, December 5 at Noon at the Marcus Center Box Office, 929 N Water Street, Downtown Milwaukee. Steel Burkhardt (Berger) Once upon a time Steel graduated from a school called Baldwin Wallace. He was shy in a small concert, then got naked in Central Park, was nude on a Broadway stage, then bared it again on the West End. Now he is ready for America... then perhaps the World?

KAITLIN KIYAN (Crissy) feels so lucky to start another journey with the beautiful tribe!
