Lake Country Playhouse announced its 2017-2018 Season, which will feature a six play Main Series, four play Youth Series, and a special concert event.

The 2017-2018 Season at LCP celebrates multitudes of strength, with productions this season all sharing similar thematic elements including the inner strength required to choose and take control of your destiny, the strength of family bonds, and the strength to love yourself and accept you deserve to be loved in return.

Opening the Main Series is "Little Women," the musical with music by Jason Howland, lyrics by Mindi Dickstein, and book by Allan Knee. The production runs October 5 through October 22, 2017.

Next up is LCP's annual production of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," adapted by Michael Koscinski with music by Ernest Brusubardis. This season, past LCP Board President Robert Hurd stars as Ebenezer Scrooge. The beloved holiday classic plays November 30 through December 10, 2017.

LCP begins the New Year with Michael McKeever's comedy "37 Postcards." McKeever's heartwarming comedic tale suggests that you can go home again - you just never know what you're going to find. The production runs January 26 through February 11, 2018.

Spring features the Lake Country premiere of "The Bridges of Madison County." The musical follows the story of the iconic movie of the same title, with a Tony Award-winning score by Jason Robert Brown. The production runs March 29 through April 15, 2018.

Next up is Paul Slade Smith's hilarious comedy "Unnecessary Farce." Featuring an embezzling mayor, a bombshell accountant, two undercover cops, and one economy motel room, "Unnecessary Farce" will have audiences rolling in the aisles with laughter. The production runs May 18 through June 3, 2018.

Closing out the season is the Wisconsin Premiere of "First Date," featuring music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner and a book by Austin Winsberg. When blind date newbie Aaron is setup with serial-dater Casey, a casual drink at a busy New York restaurant turns into a hilarious and sparks-filled evening. The production runs July 6 through July 22, 2018.

In addition to the six play Main Series, Lake Country Playhouse will feature a four play Youth Series as part of The Playhouse Performing Arts Academy (PPAA). PPAA will present "Little Women" with a youth cast October 27 through 29, 2017; "The Jason Robert Brown Project" March 16 through 18, 2018; and a summer of pirates with "Pirates of the Curry Bean" July 26 through 29, 2018; and Gilbert & Sullivan's "The Pirates of Penzance" August 2 through 12, 2018.

The company will continue its Lake Country Sings... benefit concert series, this year featuring music from the magical world of Disney. "Lake Country Sings Disney" will feature lost gems, beloved classics, and new favorites sung by the best talent Lake Country has to offer. All proceeds will benefit the Your LCP Campaign. The concert is scheduled for Friday, September 15, 2017.

All performances take place at Lake Country Playhouse, 221 E Capitol Drive, Hartland, WI.

LCP Board President SANDRA RENICK says," There's a lot happening at Lake Country Playhouse, and we could not be more excited. As we begin our 58th Season producing exceptional community theatre in Lake Country, we also begin building the next chapter and future of live theatre in Hartland.
