Milwaukee Repertory Theater presents The All Night Strut!, an energy-filled musical revue in the Stackner Cabaret November 9, 2018 - January 13, 2019.
Conceived and originally directed and choreographed by Fran Charnas, with musical arrangements by Tom Fitt, Gil Lieb and Dick Schermesser, this musical masterpiece features five triple-threat actor-musician-dancers Brian Russell Carey (Carriage House's All Shook Up), Kelly Faulkner (Guys and Dolls), Nygel D. Robinson (OperaHouses' Oklahoma),Jonathan Spivey (The Old Globe's Death of a Salesman) and Katherine Thomas (Marriot Theater's Ragtime).
The All Night Strut! is directed by JC Clementz (Murder for Two, I Love A Piano) and features music direction by Dan Kazemi (In the Heights, Guys and Dolls), set design by Arnel V. Sancianco (The Hypocrite's Carousel), costume design by Jason Orlenko (Souvenir), lighting design by Marissa Abbott (Renaissance Theaterworks' Sex with Strangers), sound design by Eric Backus (Chicago's Lifeline Theater's A Wrinkle in Time), movement direction by Kelley Faulkner (Guys and Dolls) and stage managed by Richelle Harrington Calin.
The All Night Strut! takes you on a musical journey through hits from the 1930s and 1940s from some of the greats including Duke Ellington, Frank Loesser and the Gershwins. From the funky jive of Harlem, to the romance of the Stage Door Canteen, the revue is filled with jazz, blues, bebop and American songbook standards such as "Minnie the Moocher," "In the Mood," "Fascinatin' Rhythm," "I'll Be Seeing You," "It Don't Mean a Thing if it Ain't Got That Swing," and "White Cliffs of Dover."
The All Night Strut! is part of the Camille and David Kundert Stackner Season. Executive Producers are Bob Balderson and Beth and Pete Gottsacker. Milwaukee Rep is sponsored in part by UPAF.
