Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Announces 2012-2013 Highlights, Board Governance Changes

On Tuesday, November 19 2013, the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) held its Annual Meeting to share results of its 2012-13 season and the organization's audited financial statements. The results of its highly successful international tour were shared, its Community Partnership Program evaluation research was disclosed, and 2013-14 board officers and directors were announced.

2012-13 Season Summary

Thanks to the exceptional leadership of Board Chair Patrick Rath and the full Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors and staff, the 2012-13 season was extremely successful - artistically, financially and educationally.

Nearly 3,000 corporations, foundations and individuals made a gift to the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra's (MYSO) throughout the 2012-13 season. From national support from the National Endowment of the Arts and the League of American Orchestras Ann & Gordon Getty Foundation to The Burke Foundation, Northwestern Mutual Foundation and thousands of others, MYSO is able to maintain its internationally renowned excellence. The generous support of a broad segment of our community allows MYSO to provide high-impact, artistically excellent programming to nearly 1,000 young people aged 8-18 from as many as 14 counties, 60 communities and 200 schools throughout southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
