Marcus Center For The Performing Arts Releases Updated Schedule for LIVE @ PECK PAVILION

The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts announces a change in the line up of the 2013 Live @ Peck Pavilion series in Marcus Center's Peck Pavilion that will kick off this July. This series, which started last summer, will now feature The Spirit Family Reunion on Tuesday, August 20 at 7:30 pm. The series will also include types of performances the Center typically presents inside the building on its newly updated grounds. This is a way for the Marcus Center to invite the public to sample the arts in a marvelous setting for a nominal cost.

Performances are Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. starting on July 23 and will run through August 27. Reserved seating prices are available in the bowl only. A season ticket package is available for $60. Single seat tickets are $15 and are on sale on Thursday, May 30. Tickets are available in person at the Marcus Center Box Office at 929 North Water Street, Downtown Milwaukee, by calling 414-273-7206, online at MarcusCenter.org or Ticketmaster.com. Ground seating is available for free around Peck Pavilion. Tickets for groups of 10 or more are $10 and are available by calling 414-273-7121 ext. 210 or 213. Themed dinner packages are available from Sazama's Fine Catering.

July 30: The Dunwells

August 6: Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) Show Case

Regarded as the nation's largest and most extensive youth orchestra program, Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) offers the highest level of training in ensemble musicianship to motivated young people from diverse backgrounds across southeastern Wisconsin. Students with varied levels of instrumental skills benefit from the broad range of MYSO experiences, all created to foster talent, build character and enhance lives by nurturing an enduring love of music. August 13: The Florentine Opera Company

August 20: The Spirit Family Reunion

Spirit Family Reunion play homegrown American music to stomp, clap, shake and holler with. Ever since they started singing together on the street corners, farmer's markets and subway stations of New York City, their songs have rung-out in a pure and timeless way. When Spirit Family Reunion gather to sing, there is communion. Strangers and neighbors come to rejoice in the sound, and there is no divide between performer and spectator.

August 27: Red Baraat

Red Baraat is a pioneering eight-piece band from Brooklyn, New York. The group has drawn worldwide praise for its singular sound -- a merging of hard driving North Indian bhangra rhythms with elements of jazz, go-go, brass funk, and hip-hop. Created with no less a purposeful agenda than manifesting joy and unity in all people, Red Baraat's spirit is worn brightly on its sweaty and hard-worked sleeve.
