The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts and Milwaukee Public Schools continue to partner for the Center's performing arts outreach program - Arts Connect. The Center is thrilled to announce this program is continuing to grow with its third Summer Arts Camp during the run of the Broadway show, Beautiful-The Carole King Musical, this week. This opportunity is free of cost and includes students from MPS' Riverside University High School, Ronald Reagan College Preparatory High School and Milwaukee High School of the Arts who have a strong interest in the performing arts.

This program gives these students access to arts professionals and the chance to experience various aspects of the performing arts industry first hand.
This year's Summer Arts Camp began today and runs through Friday, June 23. Various workshops will be held throughout the week including dance warm ups with Chris Gilbert, how to apply for college with a variety of Wisconsin colleges, a choreography master class with Ryan Cappleman, and much more!

The arts camp wraps up with an acting master class with Erika Olson (Cynthia Weil) from Beautiful-The Carole King Musical. This class will teach the students how to stand out in a casting room, perfect a monologue, create memorable characters, and more. The students will then get a chance to see Beautiful-The Carole King Musical live on Sunday, June 25.

"The Marcus Center values our partnership with Milwaukee Public Schools and the opportunity to share the national caliber of Broadway productions with their students," said Paul Mathews, President and CEO of the Marcus Center. "This program is a vital piece of our commitment to using art to build bridges between diverse parts of our community. We will continue to expand our efforts with the help of our generous sponsors."
