INTO THE WOODS To Be Presented By Lakeland Players At Sprague Theater
Directed by Pamela Beck-Danovich, the Sondheim classic features Erin Tetour as the Witch.
Lakeland Players Ltd has announced its upcoming production of the Tony Award-winning musical Into the Woods, running from May 1 through May 17, 2026, at the Historic Sprague Theater.
Directed by Pamela Beck-Danovich, this production brings Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's darkly funny and heartfelt adventure to life. The story intertwines classic Brothers Grimm fairy tales, following a Baker and his wife on a quest to break a Witch's curse. Along the way, they encounter Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, and Jack (of beanstalk fame), only to discover that "happily ever after" carries unexpected consequences.
"We are SO excited to announce our extremely talented cast for Into the Woods," noted the Lakeland Players team as rehearsals commenced in March of 2026.
The cast includes Matt Weisensel as the Narrator, Erin Tetour as the Witch, Sean Walker as the Baker, and Emma Quist as the Baker’s Wife. Rachel Stinespring will appear as Cinderella, with Nicholas Bowler as Jack, Tanya Stewart as Jack’s Mother, and Kylie Emmerich as Little Red Riding Hood.
Opening night will take place on Friday, May 1, and will feature a special Fairytale Costume Contest for attendees.
Performances will run Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. on May 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, and 16, with Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. on May 3, 10, and 17. All performances will be held at the Historic Sprague Theater, located at 15 W. Walworth St in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
