Brett Schrier to Teach Broadway Playground Master Class in Milwaukee This June

Direct from New York, Broadway Playground provides local opportunity on June 25 and 26 (June 13, 2016) - Broadway Playground is heading to the Milwaukee area to offer Musical Theatre Audition Workshop for local performers of all ages. Taught by Broadway Vocal Coach/Music Director, Brett Schrier, this one-day event teaches "inside tricks" to standing out at singing auditions - whether it's your high school musical, entrance audition for college, or taking the next step in your professional career.

Brett Schrier's musical directing credits include Hairspray (National Tour), 42nd Street (National Tour), Scooby-Doo Live! (Warner Bros.), Chuggington (Disney Channel), Les Miserables, and Cats. His students are currently featured in Broadway and touring companies of Hamilton, Wicked, Mamma Mia, The Book Of Mormon, The Lion King, Kinky Boots, Rock of Ages, and Chicago. Brett is also Vocal Director for Royal Caribbean International - and has written three original musicals currently licensed and produced by theatre companies around the globe.

Recent Broadway Playground instructors included Joy Dewing, CSA (Joy Dewing Casting), Bob Cline, CSA (Bob Cline Casting), Kaitlin Shaw, CSA (Tara Rubin Casting), Stephen Carrasco (Dance Captain; Broadway's Kinky Boots), JR Bruno (Dance Captain; Broadway's The Book of Mormon), and Terry Berland (Los Angeles Commercial Casting Director).

"Broadway Playground dares us all to take risks and strive to be the best we can be - both onstage and off," said Schrier. "After huge responses in New York, Minneapolis, and Kansas City, I can't wait to spread the magic of music and theatre throughout Milwaukee."

Three workshops will be offered. Saturday, June 25 from 10:00 - 1:30 for kids & teens (9-16). Saturday, June 25 from 3:00 - 6:00 for adults (16+). Another adult class (16+) will take place on Sunday, June 26 from 11:00 - 2:00. Students are asked to prepare a musical theatre song to work "one-on-one" with Brett. A Q&A session with Brett is included. Tuition is $85. Sessions on June 25 will be held at Lake Country Playhouse (221 E. Capitol Drive in Hartland) - and the session on June 26 at The Underground Collaborative (161 W. Wisconsin Avenue in Downtown Milwaukee). Space is limited!
