Monster Box Theatre continues its Fall/Winter season with the “cheeseball comedy,” The Book of Liz; written by comedic legends, David and Amy Sedaris. The Book of Liz will run weekends Nov 30th - Dec 16th.
In this uproarious comedy, Liz, a runaway from a community of “Sqeamish” who live in a parish and keep to themselves … and God. The community supports itself through the production of its cheeseballs, crafted by Sister Elizabeth Donderstock.
Feeling under appreciated, Liz resolves to leave her community and journeys to a new life. Along the way she meets a smattering of outlandish characters, including a woman dressed as "Mr. Peanut" and her foreign family.
Through her new friends, Liz gets a job at a chain restaurant and bonds with the recovering alcoholic manager and his staff. When she is offered a promotion with the condition of changing things about herself, Liz must decide what to do next.
This show is perfect for fans of the Sedaris’ sparkling brand of humor and anyone looking for a great comedy with just the right amount of heartfelt self discovery. Don’t miss this light send up of religion which opens November 30th, just in time for family get togethers.
