Neighborhood Theatre Group (NTG) is proud to present the premiere of Cryptic by Michigan playwright A.M. Dean. Performances are February 23-24 at 8pm and February 25 at 2pm at Bona Sera Underground (200 W. Michigan Ave.) in downtown Ypsilanti. Tickets are $10 general and $5 students (with valid ID) and can be purchased at the door or online at https://ntgcryptic.brownpapertickets.com/. There is free parking downtown. Bona Sera Restaurant will be open for dinner and brunch before the shows.
In the heartwarming comedy, Cryptic, The Huron Valley Cryptozoological Society’s world is rocked when Roberta Bleek sends a blurry sighting video of Huro, the Huron River monster, to a cable TV show. Now Roberta must contend with her pushy Bigfoot loving cousin, the ghost of her sister, and the possibility that her lifelong obsession might be real. Directed by Marisa Dluge, Cryptic stars Kylista Geiger, Mimi Keebler, Lauren Megan, Greg Pizzino, Inney Prakash, and Craig VanKempen. Featuring an original score and sound design performed live by composer Tom Hett.
Playwright A.M. Dean is a native of Whitehall, MI. He’s had numerous plays and musicals produced throughout the midwest including Dispatches from the Dumb Decade, Beaver’s Long Strange Trip, and Carl, Baby (Michigan) , The Former Things (Michigan and Chicago), Escape from the Haltzburg Boy’s Choir and 15 Minutes (Chicago). A.M. Dean is a resident of Ypsilanti and a proud company member and co-founder of Neighborhood Theatre Group.
