YES WEED CAN Revival Set To Debut At Ant Hall 4/20 ImageFor those who celebrate the "High Holiday" of 4/20, Planet Ant Theater is bringing a special treat - a revival of its original musical comedy Yes Weed Can April 20 - May 12 at Ant Hall. Tickets ($10-$20) are on sale now at www.planetant.com/yesweedcan or in person 30 minutes prior to show time at the Ant Hall box office.

Yes Weed Can is an original musical satire that tells intertwining tales of conspiracy and redemption. It follows the journey of Tammy, who is compelled to wrestle with the legal ramifications of the legislative vilification of cannabis, while chronicling the scheme of a powerful few who bamboozled America into outlawing a beloved, common crop for personal gain.

Those who remember the version that debuted in the Planet Ant Black Box in 2014 will find the story has changed substantially. That original version was cut in half for an eight month run at The Second City performance space in Los Angeles. "We liked the streamlined LA version better because it was more singular In Focus," states director Shawn Handlon, "so when we decided to remount it at Ant Hall, we started with the LA version and filled out that story more thoroughly. This version a totally different show from the original."

Says Darren Shelton, Executive Director of Planet Ant, "I remember loving the original, but thinking that its relevance would be short lived because of the loosening marijuana laws across the country. But in the era of Jeff Sessions' revived war on drugs, it's become more relevant than ever."

Yes Weed Can is written by Shawn Handlon and Jaime Moyer, directed by Handlon with Musical direction by Mikey Brown. This revival features Kaitlyn Valor Bourque, Kelly Rossi, Inney Puri Prakash, Rollo Michael Rolin, Andy Burt, Nick Latimer, Michelle Studer, and Sarah Wilder and appears at Ant Hall Friday & Saturday evenings at 8:00pm April 20 - May 12, with 6:00pm performances on Sundays April 29 and May 6. There will not be a performance on Friday, May 4. Tickets ($10-$20) are on sale now at www.planetant.com/yesweedcan and in person at the Ant Hall box office beginning 30 minutes prior to showtime based on availability.
