The Williamston Theatre is pleased to announce an extension of its special discounts to members of the military and their families with the launch of its Military Matinee Program. The first Saturday matinee of each production for the remainder of the 2015-2016 Season will be designated as Pay-What-You-Can for members of the Military and their families.
The Theatre already offers one Pay-What-You-Can performance to the general public with each production, and a $2 discount on all tickets for active and retired members of the Military for any performance.
Specially designated Military Matinees for the remainder of the current season are:
The Decade Dance: Saturday, April 9 at 3pm
Chapatti: Saturday, June 4 at 3pm
Summer Retreat: Saturday, July 23 at 3pm
Advanced reservations are required to take advantage of this special offer. Members of the Military can call the Theatre's box office at (517) 655-7469 during regular box office hours and identify themselves to receive the special Pay-What-You-Can discount. Reservations must be paid in advance, and there is a limit of four (4) tickets per order. Regular ticket prices and discounts apply for these matinees for the general public. Members of the Military, both active and retired, will continue to receive a $2 discount on tickets for all other performances.
The Williamston Theatre participates in the Blue Star Theatres program - an initiative of Theatre Communications Group, the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families, with funding from the MetLife Foundation - to build stronger connections between the theatre field and military families in communities across the country. The Williamston Theatre, an Equity Theatre located in the Greater Lansing area, was founded in 2006. Since that time the company has mounted fifty-seven full productions, including eleven World Premieres, several regional premieres, and hosted numerous staged readings through the "Dark Nights in Billtown" series. In 2014, the American Theatre Wing named the Williamston Theatre one of the top twelve promising young theatres in the country with their National Theatre Company Award.
The 2015-2016 Season marks the Williamston Theatre's Tenth Season in operation. Now on stage is the critically acclaimed Too Much, Too Much, Too Many, running through February 28. More information, including the full Season listing, can be found on the Theatre's website at www.williamstontheatre.org or by calling the box office at (517) 655-7469.
