Williamston Theatre Announces Lucky Season 13 ImageThe Williamston Theater, mid-Michigan's award winning professional theatre company located at 122 S. Putnam in downtown Williamston, celebrates Lucky Season 13 by continuing to bring unique theatrical experiences with two World Premieres, two Michigan Premieres, a Pulitzer Prize Winner, and a co-production with our friends at Tipping Point Theatre. The 2018-2019 Season will include: Silent Sky by Lauren Gunderson, A Hunting Shack Christmas by Jessica Lind Peterson, To Quiet the Quiet by Christy Hall, The Gin Game by D.L. Coburn, New Releases by Joseph Zettelmaier and Popcorn Falls by James Hindman.

This season all five of the six productions will begin with four Preview performances. Popcorn Falls will only have one Preview performance. During Previews audience members will have the opportunity to take part in the process of creating a show by participating in a talkback session with the director following each performance. Also, one Sunday of each performance the theatre will be hosting a Conversation Sunday. A group of people (playwrights, designers, actors, experts in a topic specific to the show) will come together to chat with patrons following the matinee. More information about times and specific guests will be provided throughout the season.

Silent Sky - Astonishing discoveries await Henrietta Leavitt as she maps distant stars in galaxies beyond our own. This brilliant, headstrong pioneer must struggle, though, for recognition in the man's world of turn-of-the-century astronomy. In this exquisite blend of science, history, family ties, and fragile love, a passionate young woman must map her own passage through a society determined to keep a woman in her place. A stunningly beautiful tale, based on the true story and science of early 20th century female "computers" at Harvard Observatory. A Michigan Premiere! Directed by Tony Caselli.

September 20 - October 21, 2018

A Hunting Shack Christmas - As the holidays approach, Charlie heads up to the hunting shack that's been in his family for generations, hoping for the peace he needs to sort out his life. Instead of the solitude he was looking for, he finds himself buried in snow, unexpected family, beef jerky, a crazy internet romance, and more snow. Can he sort it all out in time for his wedding anniversary?

Directed by Tony Caselli.

November 15 - December 23, 2018

To Quiet The Quiet - Having suffered great loss and heartbreak in her life, Kathy, now middle-aged and alone, is a woman on the edge. Haunted by her past, and her own personal demons, Kathy seems to be losing the battle against her thoughts, her words, and her fears. The one man who can help Kathy may prove to be just as powerless against her. To Quiet The Quiet, a new mystery play, will keep you riveted through its deepest, darkest secrets. Contains adult content and language. A World Premiere! Directed by Shannon Wojtas.

January 24 - February 24, 2019

The Gin Game - Weller Martin is playing solitaire on the porch of a seedy nursing home. Enter Fonsia Dorsey, a prim, self-righteous woman. They discover they both dislike the home and enjoy the game of gin, so they begin to play. As they play, intimate details reveal themselves, and what follows was called by The New York Times "The closest thing the theatre offers to a duel at 10 paces". Featuring Ruth Crawford and Hugh Maguire. Contains Adult Language. 1978 Pulitzer Prize Winner for Drama! Directed by John Lepard.

March 21 - April 20, 2019

New Releases - Jen is going down with the sinking ship. That ship is Avid Video, a small-time video rental store that is circling the drain. One night, a strange woman comes in to rent a video that has never been rented...one that Jen didn't even know the store carried. The two of them strike a bizarre deal, and as the months go on, Jen struggles to unravel the mystery of this woman, even as the store she loves marches towards extinction. A warm comedy that'll tickle your funny bone and touch your heart. Contains adult language. A World Premiere! Directed by Paige Conway.

May 9 - June 9, 2019

Popcorn Falls - The sleepy town of Popcorn Falls is forced into bankruptcy when a neighboring town threatens to turn them into a sewage treatment plant. Their only hope - OPEN A THEATRE and produce a play in a week to earn a grant! Led by the Mayor and the local handyman, the enterprising townsfolk try to rise to the challenge. Two actors play over twenty roles in a world of farce, love and desperation, proving once and for all that art can save the world. A co-production with Tipping Point Theatre! Directed by Dave Davies.
