Wild Swan Theater is offering a lineup of drama camps once again this summer. Camps begin June 25th and run through August 17th, with sessions available for children ages 4-10. Wild Swan Theater drama camps are fun experiences where kids can feel safe and comfortable exploring the imaginative world of theater. Our main goal is that every camper has a great time cultivating their creativity and leaves camp feeling successful. Activities include warm-ups, theater games, and improvisations that bring people together in a nurturing, memorable way. Some weeks also include craft activities such as making props and costume pieces.

Class registration is available through our website at www.wildswantheater.org or by calling our office at 734-995-0530 now. All classes are held at Wild Swan Theater's office and studio space at 6175 Jackson Road, between Zeeb and Baker Roads. Camp DoYaWanna sessions for the 2018 Summer are:

Adventures in Space Monday, June 25 - Friday, June 29 Session 1

Teachers: Meghan VanArsdalen & Sandy Ryder

9:30am - 12:30pm (for students ages 6 - 10)

Blast off to a world way beyond our earth! We'll create our own aliens and star constellations, make up our own galaxy languages, and our own commercials selling "moonbeams" and "mooncheese"-it's guaranteed to be a week that is out of this world!

Let's Laugh! Monday, July 9 - Friday, July 13 Session 2 Teachers: Meghan VanArsdalen & Hannah Schweitzer

9:30am - 12:30pm (for students ages 6 - 10)

Join us for a camp filled with laughs! We'll read funny stories, make up our own knock knock jokes, write our own comedy sketches, play some great improv games, and generally, "laugh our heads off!" Timing is everything-so please, join us for some hilarious times!

Ferdinand the Bull Monday, July 16 - Friday, July 20 Session 3

Teachers: Sandy Ryder & Michelle Trame Lanzi

9:30am - 12:30pm (for students ages 6 - 10)

Join us as we explore the beloved tale, The Story of Ferdinand, the bull who would rather smell flowers than fight in bullfights. Storytelling, creative movement and just plain silliness are sure to make this camp a perfect experience for your young actor.

African Arts Monday, July 23 - Friday, July 27 Session 4

Teacher: Jaclyn Morrow

9:30am - 12:30pm (for students ages 6 - 10)

Explore the many forms of storytelling and art from Africa. We'll get creative with visual art projects inspired by different African countries. But that's not all-we'll learn traditional drumming and songs from West Africa. Then, we'll let the beat spread from our hands into our bodies and have fun learning traditional West African dance!

Teachers: LeAnn Bjornrud Brunner & Hannah Schweitzer

10am - 12pm (for children ages 4 - 6)
