Wayne State Leaps Into Its 89th Spring Season With Daring, Dynamic, And Diverse Works  ImageThe Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance at Wayne State University is shaking the snow off their shoulders and putting their eyes towards spring. Dance is excited to announce their annual Spring Dance Concert entitled "Create Something Beautiful", taking place at the historic Bonstelle Theatre. This year's show promises to be a presentation of diverse and moving works encompassing many facets of the human experience, both past and present. Dance students have the pleasure of working with a variety of talented artists, including invited guests, esteemed faculty, and talented student choreographers.

The 2018 Allesee Guest Artist Repertory ensemble has had the pleasure of working with guest choreographer Leslie Williams on a new piece entitled "Points of Perspective".

African Dance ensemble, To Sangana is also joining the mix. The dance company continues to thrills audiences with African-derived dance and drum presentations guaranteed to inspire, refresh, educate, and entertain. The company celebrates rich cultural traditions from African heritage, as well as the contemporary African-American experience.

In addition to the works by guest artists, the 89th annual Spring Dance Concert will feature works by faculty members including Meg Paul, RAS Mikey Courtney, Karen Prall, Biba Bell, Tracy Pearson and students Isabella Brown, Joseph Galba, Niyah Riggins, and Kelsey Lewiski-Chism. It is certain to be an evening of invigorating and energizing contemporary dance made only more enchanting by the historic Bonstelle Theatre.
