Millie is getting married, and her friends have thrown her an impromptu bachelorette party. It's the '60s, and while talk of love and marriage carries on, the girls get carried away with the music of the day. Join Millie, Sally, Florence and Dee Dee while they rock out to hits from the '60s, including "Baby I'm Yours," "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me," "I Will Follow Him," and, of course, "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?"

"Why Do Fools Fall In Love?" was created by Roger Bean, who was the mind behind previous MBT hits "Life Could Be a Dream" and "The Andrews Brothers." The musical runs May 24 through June 18, at Meadow Brook Theatre on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester.

"Our audiences loved the Roger Bean shows we've done in the past. People came back to see "The Andrews Brothers" and "Life Could Be a Dream" more than once," said MBT Artistic Director, Travis Walter. "When we got the chance to present "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?" I knew it would be another musical that would have our audiences dancing in their seats. It's the perfect way to end our season."

Some favorite actresses will be back on stage for this all-female musical. Allison Hunt ("The Andrews Brothers" and "Xanadu") is bride-to-be Millie, Felicia Renae ("Sistas the Musical") is Sally, Renee Turner ("Shout! The Mod Musical") is Florence, and Katie Hardy ("Xanadu" and "Dracula: A Rock Opera) plays Dee Dee.

"Why Do Fools Fall in Love?" is directed by Meadow Brook Theatre Artistic Director Travis W. Walter. Debbie Williams is the choreographer and Stacy White is the musical director. Terry Carpenter is the stage manager, with set design by Kristen Gribbin, costumes by Corey Collins, lighting by Matthew J. Fick and sound by Mike Duncan.

Stacy White also directs the band and plays synthesizer. The remainder of the band includes Cindy Pavelek on synthesizer, Sig Hepler on guitar and Nick Matthews on percussion.

Tickets range from $27 to $42 and are available by calling the Meadow Brook Theatre box office at 248-377-3300 or going online at www.ticketmaster.com. Student discounts are available at the box office. Groups of eight or more should call 248-370-3316 for group pricing.

"Why Do Fools Fall in Love?" is made possible through the generous support of The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, The National Endowment for the Arts, The Kresge Foundation, The Fred A. and Barbara M. Erb Family Foundation, The Shubert Foundation, and the Meadow Brook Theatre Guild.
