Direct from the Edinburgh FRINGE Festival, Igor Urzelai and Moreno Solinas's Idiot-Syncrasy is intended to create a sense of empowerment and reclaim dance as an agent for change. Throughout the entirety of the piece the two men continuously bounce, jump, and sing, demonstrating an immense amount of athleticism and agility while emphasizing the joy that endurance, perseverance, and commitment can bring.
Urzelai and Solinas began creating stage works collaboratively in 2007, co-founding BLOOM! dance collective in 2009 and Igor and Moreno in 2012. The London-based dancers create work about people and what makes them such special animals, characterized by an interest in the moving body and the immediacy of action as a vehicle for meaning, ideas, and desires.
This livestream is funded in part by the Building Audiences for Sustainability initiative of The Wallace Foundation, which aims to develop practical insights into how arts organizations can attract new audiences while retaining current ones.
