Mid-Michigan's award winning professional theatre company, Williamston Theatre, located at 122 S. Putnam Street in downtown Williamston, is collaborating once again with the MSU Department of Theatre. The 2011-2012 Season starts off with a unique take on reality television in The Dead Guy by Eric Coble. Tickets are now on sale.

The Dead Guy begins with five Preview performances starting Thursday, September 29. During the first four Previews audience members will have the opportunity to take part in the process of creating a show by participating in a talkback session with the director following each performance. The Official Opening Night is Friday, October 7 with the show scheduled to run through Sunday, October 30. Performances will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at eight o'clock and Sunday matinees at two o'clock with additional three o'clock matinees on Saturdays starting October 8.

The Pitch: You get one million dollars to spend over the next seven days while a camera crew follows you ever move and broadcasts it on national television. The Hook: At the end of the week you die. The Best Part: The viewing audience gets to vote on the method of your death (www.thedeadguy.net). For hard-luck ElDon Phelps, the deal is irresistible. But does America have the stomach for this much reality?

The cast consists of Sarab Kamoo (Panache), Chris Korte (Every Christmas Story Ever Told!!), Chris Purchis and MSU students Eric Eilerson, Ian Page and Michelle Serje. The Director of The Dead Guy is Williamston Theatre's Artistic Director Tony Caselli. The production team includes MSU graduate students Brian Dambacher (Scenic Designer), Genesis Garza (Lighting Designer), Renee Surprenant (Costume Designer) and D. Emil Boulis (F/X Designer) and MSU undergraduate Peter Martino (Sound Designer). The Stage Manager is Stefanie Din.

Tickets are Pay-What-You-Can for Thursday, September 29. Remaining Preview tickets are $15.00! Starting Opening Night, tickets prices are $25.00 for Friday and Saturday evenings, $22.00 for the Saturday matinees and $22.00 for Thursday matinee and evenings. Discounted rates are available for groups of 10 or more for most performances. Tickets can be ordered by calling (517) 655-SHOW (7469), Tuesday - Friday from 12 - 6pm.
