The Whiting Presents One Woman Show ZORA 4/28, 5/2

From the theatrical biography by Laurence Holder, The Whiting is proud to present Zora for two moving performances on Tuesday, April 28 at 7:30pm and Saturday, May 2 at 8pm. With special on stage seating, this riveting one woman show produced by The American Place Theatre's Literature to Life educational outreach program, with discussion led by their professional teaching artist, tells the story Zora Neale Hurston, one of the most important and celebrated figures to emerge from the Harlem Renaissance. Outspoken, spirited and gifted, Ms. Hurston was a prolific African-American writer of the 1930's, her books defining the black American experience. In this dramatic biography, Zora invites the audience into her exemplary life that is rich with folklore, intimate portraits of her contemporaries, and excerpts from her significant body of literary work.
