The Sixth Annual Whitefish Point: Run for the Light is October 8th at 8:30am. The half marathon, 10K run and 5K run/walk benefits the ongoing restoration of the Whitefish Point Lighthouse. The Whitefish Point Lighthouse is the oldest operating light-station on Lake Superior, in continuous operation since 1861.

Register online (through midnight October 6th) or onsite at the Shipwreck Coast Museum Store (through October 7th at 7pm) or download and send in your registration form. Cost is $35 for the 5K, $45 for the 10K and $55 for the half marathon. A special rate for kids 14 years and under is $25.

All participants will receive a Whitefish Point: Run for the Light Dri-FIT T-shirt, race packet and special admission group rate of $9 (regularly $13) to the Shipwreck Museum. Awards will be given to the top two finishers in each age group, male and female, in each race event (Half Marathon, 10K Run, 5K Run/Walk). The course features chip timing and flat paved roadways. Participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes.

The annual Whitefish Point: Run for the Light would not be possible without its volunteers. Call the Shipwreck Society Office at 906-635-1742 to sign up. Positions available at the registration tables, start and finish line and along the course at the three turn around points.
