The Dio - Dining & Entertainment, Livingston County's professional, award winning dinner theatre, is excited to present The Savannah Sipping Society by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, directed by Susan Craves.
In this delightful, laugh-a-minute comedy from the writers of Dio favorites The Dixie Swim Club and Always a Bridesmaid, four unique Southern women, all needing to escape the sameness of their day-to-day routines, are drawn together by fate - and an impromptu happy hour - and decide it's high time to reclaim the enthusiasm for life they've lost through the years. Together, they discover lasting friendships and a renewed determination to live in the moment - and most importantly, realize it's never too late to make new "old friends."
Director Susan Craves says, "Savannah Sipping Society is a story that celebrates life - the ups and downs and the in-between. A story that our group of talented and dedicated actors, designers and production team have worked enthusiastically and tirelessly on for your enjoyment!"
The Savannah Sipping Society features performances by Alisa Mutchler Bauer, Brenda Lane, Amy Morrisey and Kez Settle.
Performances take place at The Dio, 177 E. Main Street, Pinckney Michigan, 48169 from June 15 through July 22, Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons. There will be two Thursday evening performances, June 14 and July 19.
All tickets include dinner, dessert and non-alcoholic beverages. The menu for The Savannah Sipping Society is inspired by the Southern setting of our show and includes garden salad with choice of dressing, freshly baked honey buttered dinner rolls, sweet and spicy (but not too spicy) Savannah red rice with sautéed celery, onions, tomatoes and smoky bacon (a vegan version will also be available), Georgia greens braised in a blend of southern style herbs and spices, grilled bone in pork chops with house-made barbecue sauce on the side, plus our signature fried chicken, boneless hand breaded and fried to a golden brown, and for dessert a southern treat, lemon bars!
Tickets for all performances are available now and may be purchased by visiting diotheatre.com or by calling (517) 672-6009. Seating is limited. Advanced reservations are strongly recommended.
