The Dio - Dining and Entertainment, Livingston County's only professional theatre company, is excited to announce their upcoming production of Frank Wildhorn's Dracula The Musical!
Dracula The Musical is a thrilling drama of suspense and a Gothic romance of dreamlike temptation from the extraordinary team of Christopher Hampton, Don Black and Frank Wildhorn, the same people who brought musical theatre lovers Jekyll and Hyde and The Civil War.
Set in Europe at the end of the Victorian Age, the story follows the famed vampire as he lusts for new blood. Jonathan Harker and Mina Murray fall victim to Dracula's unnatural charm, and along with Doctor Van Helsing, must fight Dracula's supernatural powers. Dracula showcases some of the biggest voices in Michigan musical theatre, and features a powerful score that will bring the undead to life in this haunting musical of unrequited love.Dracula The Musical will star New York's Joshua David Cavanaugh in the title role. A recent graduate of NYU where he received his MM in vocal performance, Joshua's credits include productions from New York to California. Most recently, he was seen as Chad in The Untitled John Mayer Project at The Merc. Other credits include Joey in The Most Happy Fella, Frankie in Forever Plaid, Perchik in Fiddler on the Roof, and The Beast in Beauty and the Beast.
