Artistic Director James Ingagiola and Executive Director Isaac Ellis have announced The Brass Tacks Ensemble will be presenting School for Scandal by Richard Brinsley Sheridan this weekend, August 6 - 8, 2015 at the Kerrytown Concert House (415 N. 4th Ave in Ann Arbor).
When the rivalry between the Surface brothers for the hand of the fair Maria couldn't get more intense, in comes their Uncle Oliver to add a new complication: He will visit each of them in disguise to test their true worths. Who will come out on top? The upright (but secretly self-serving) Joseph? Or the devil-may-care (but nobly generous) Charles? And how will the mob of gossips and scandal-makers who hang on every moment influence the decision?
Sparkling wit and hilarious complications ensue as The Brass Tacks Ensemble presents Richard Brinsley Sheridan's satirical masterpiece about the lengths we go to maintain our reputations, our integrity, and sometimes our sanity, when confronted with rumor, scandal, and hypocrisy.
School for Scandal takes the place of the previously announced Pros & Cons in The Brass Tacks Ensemble's 2015 season.
Directed by James Ingagiola, performances will be Thursday, August 6th at 8 p.m., Friday, August 7th at 8 p.m., and Saturday, August 8th at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Kerrytown Concert House (415 N. 4th Ave in Ann Arbor). Tickets are $15 for general admissions and $5 for students (with ID). For reservations, email btereservations@gmail.com or call (517) 914-9300.
