Performance Network Theatre is pleased to announce the replacement of its annual Gala event with a new and unique fundraiser, "Taste of the Season (Party for the Arty)," comprised of a variety of house parties and downtown events to benefit the theatre. Beginning April 15th and ending April 25th, numerous parties will take place at various locations, each with a different theatrical theme.

Parties will be hosted by PNT supporters at their homes as well as in restaurants
throughout Ann Arbor. Ticket prices will vary, based on the menu and style of each event.
Executive Director Carla Milarch said: "After nearly ten years of holding big, auction-oriented Galas, we've decided it's time for something new, fun and fresh. Instead of a huge, impersonal event in a hotel ballroom, we're throwing a variety of smaller events. Instead of a generic chicken or veggie selection, each menu will be unique and inspired by the host's own style. Guests won't be asked to sit through lengthy auctions. Instead they'll be able to relax and
socialize in a comfortable atmosphere. "

All parties will be listed in a "Taste of the Season (Party for the Arty)" catalog, which will be mailed to supporters in March. Guests can sign up for one or more "experiences" which will range from wine dinners, to barbecues, brunches and more. A variety of distinctive items will be raffled off at each party.

Artistic Director David Wolber said "It's really a perfect event for us, with a focus on creativity, in an intimate atmosphere. Many parties will have a theatre theme, and we're encouraging hosts to let their imaginations run wild. We'll also have actors at each party, to answer questions about the theatre and lend an added element of fun."

Proceeds from the events will benefit Performance Network's artistic programs, including its Children's Theatre Network, Fireside Festival of New Work, Apprenticeships for college graduates and Professional Season.

Founded in 1981, Performance Network Theatre has grown from a fledgling company to Ann Arbor's only resident, professional theatre. The Network reaches 40,000 theatre patrons and children each year through the year-round Professional Series and The Children's Theatre Network. Performance Network also presents the Fireside Festival of New Works and a series of classes on theatre-related topics. The Network provides uncompromising artistic leadership in the region and produces works that engage, challenge and inspire audiences and artists.
