Take Root's co-founders and co-directors Thayer Jonutz and Ali Woerner are OU dance faculty members. They are finalists in the 2016 Governor's Fitness Award in the Extraordinary Event category for their work in the community. Among other endeavors, they teach a Dance for Parkinson's Disease class, which empowers those with Parkinson's disease to stay active in creative ways. There will be a special presentation of that class at the beginning of the Saturday 2 p.m. performance.
