Mason Street Warehouse's third and final show in this year's 2009 Summer Season is THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE. MSW is very excited to bring this show to Saugatuck, MI because it is one of only six professional regional theatres that received the rights to produce the show this summer. SPELLING BEE runs from August 14 to 30, 2009 (closed Mondays).

THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE features music and lyrics by William Finn, a book by Rachel Sheinkin, and was conceived by Rebecca Feldman. This production is directed and choreographed by Kurt Stamm.

The hilarious story centers around a fictional Spelling Bee set in a geographically ambiguous Putnam Valley Middle School. Six quirky adolescents compete in the Bee, run by three equally quirky grown-ups. On Broadway, the show was nominated for 5 Tony Awards and won Best Featured Actor and Best Book of a Musical.

The fantastic cast comes to MSW from New York, Chicago and Michigan. Two of the Equity actors did the original Chicago production as well as the National Tour, and MSW is proud to have several incredibly talented MSW Centerstage Interns performing in this production as well.

Come and experience the funny and touching musical that is THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE at Mason Street Warehouse. It may remind you of a few people you once knew...or still do. Or it may just remind you of what it was like to be a kid.

At the Mason Street Warehouse, in the Bertha Krueger Reid Theatre at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, 400 Culver St., Saugatuck, MI. For tickets, call 269-857-4898 or visit www.tix.com to purchase online.
