Once again, the Spotlight Still Got It Players is presenting a new comedy for their audience to enjoy. The Geezer Game written by Herb McCollum Jr makes it's premiere at the Biltmore Studio Theatre inside the Village Theater at Cherry Hill in Canton, MI.
Doc's depressed and his over-the-hill friends are out of shape. So when they're hustled to play a charity touch football game against a much younger team, where should the smart money bet? Laughs abound as age and arthritis battle youth for every yard in the miss-match Bowl of the century.
The cast features: Jack Galazca, Jeanne Pruitt, Harry Stafford, Joe Arcel, Marian Busa, Rich Pientak, Linda Trygg, Terry Viviani. and Gary Turnquist. The comedy is directed by Debbie Lannen, Artistic Director of the Spotlight Still Got It Players. Playwright, Herb McCollom Jr., of Pennsylvania will be making the trip from his hometown to be at the premiere of his new comedy. A senior himself, he felt his comedy would fit the Spotlight Still Got It Players mission of presenting works that only feature mature actors. According to Artistic Director Debbie Lannen, works like these are hard to find. "When I select a play for our company, I must only have characters that can be played by actors over the age of 50", commented Ms. Lannen. "This is difficult. Usually, every play has one or two younger characters. Mr. McCollom's comedy fit the bill exactly. It is an entertaining new work with laughs abounding throughout. I chose to present it in the intimate Biltmore Studio to give the audience the feel of being right in the Scottish Pub making the plans for this momentous game right along with the characters onstage."Videos
