Southgate Community Players are thrilled to announce their extremely talented cast of "Avenue Q." The laugh-out-loud musical tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton, who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that, although the residents seem nice, it's clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Avenue Q is an American musical in two acts, conceived by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, who together, wrote the music and lyrics. The book was written by Jeff Whitty and the show was directed by Jason Moore. Avenue Q is an "autobiographical and biographical" coming-of-age parable, addressing and satirizing the issues and anxieties associated with entering adulthood. Winner of 3 Tony awards, including Best Musical.
Featuring the talents of Cory Shorter of Dearborn Heights as Princeton, Dara Pardon of Wyandotte as Kate Monster, Rob Douglas of Trenton as Nicky, Brad Hardecki of Grosse Pointe Woods as Rod, Ashley Lyle as Gary Coleman. Southgate residents Tamara Marla as Christmas Eve, Logan Laflin as Brian, Don Corbin as Trekkie Monster, Sydnee Dombrowski as Lucy, and Austin Sulkey as Mrs. T. Finishing out the cast is Ashley Blevins of Allen Park and Brandon VanHouten of Lincoln Park as the Bad Idea Bears. Directed and Choreographed by Phillip Rauch.
