The Open Table Series at Performance Network features a reading of Joseph Zettelmaier's Pulp today, May 27.

The reading on May 27 was originally the week before but was rescheduled. Readings are free to attend and begin at 7:30pm. The Open Table Series offers table readings of plays and musicals, both classic and new, in an intimate setting. For more information on the productions and events at the Network or to donate, go to www.pntheatre.org or call the box office at 734-663-0681.

"We are thrilled that Pulp is an NNPN Rolling World Premiere next season, so we thought it would be valuable to have an Open Table reading to get feedback on the newest version," said Executive Director John Manfredi.

May 27: Pulp by Joseph Zettelmaier

Set in Los Angeles, 1933, PI Frank Ellery doesn't know it, but he's taken on the strangest case of his life. A literary agent has been gruesomely murdered. The 4 suspects: his remaining clients, all writers for different pulp magazines. Frank dives into the mystery, and his world turns upside down as life begins to imitate literature. Science fiction, romance, adventure, horror...and one downonhisluck gumshoe who's about to learn what really lurks between the lines.

Upcoming Open Table readings include a tobedetermined reading in consideration for the Network's Northern Writers' Project (September 2015) on June 17 and a reading of Richard Strand's T?he Butler o?n June 24.
