RESCUE: a captivating maritime concert, chronicles over 150 years of lifesaving on the Great Lakes. You've never heard history come to life like this before!
Dan Hall and Ric Mixter are pleased to announce a brand new show that is debuting at Riverbank Theatre on March 24th and 25th featuring dramatic interviews, rare archival footage, and captivating live storytelling. This two-hour program has a live soundtrack by Dan Hall, whose haunting ballads and contemporary style has made him one of the most popular folk artists in the Midwest.
RESCUE is a completely different concert than their popular STORM that sold out two consecutive shows at Riverbank last fall. Highlighted are stories from the area, including the loss of the CH Johnson in the Straits of Mackinac. Salvager Tom Reid is also featured for his recovery of most of the wrecks from the Gale of 1913. RESCUE'S most intense moments come from over 3 decades of research by Ric Mixter. Interviews from survivors of the Carl D. Bradley, Daniel J. Morrell and Cedarville are shared, along with discovered footage of when the ships were still sailing. Spellbinding underwater imagery also shows what the ships are like today, along with insight on how they ended up on the bottom.
From the worst open-water disaster to the most celebrated lifesavers, RESCUE is a concert for the entire family. Dan Hall's music includes two brand new songs, setting the mood for terrifying survivals as well as humorous anecdotes from the survivors. Ric Mixter weaves the stories together in a way that you've never before witnessed from a historian!
Performances are Saturday, March 24th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 25th at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $20.00 for reserved seating and are available online at www.riverbanktheatre.com or by phone at 810-278-1749.
